On June 15th, 2008 (Father's Day) I took the family and invited some freinds to go to Prineville Reservoir in the afternoon. What a beautiful Day. Must have been at least 75 degrees out and the kids had a great time playing in the water. As far as sailing goes . . . . . . I'll have to give the Bowman Dam area low marks for wind consistency on that day. I need to do a little more research on how to tell when optimum wind conditions will occur in Central Oregon for good sailing. Still, I love being on the boat. I was going to do a 50 mile training ride but decided it was more better to spend Father's Day with family and freinds. "They" (not sure who they are) did a great job replacing the old boat ramp at Bowman Dam and put in terrific parking to boot. I know this end of the lake is mostly where the water skiers put in but it sure would be great if "they" put a little effort into a day use beach are of some kind. Mud flats aren't that inviting to people who just want to hang out and play in the water and there is plenty of room. But maybe tha's the point.
